Purchase Policies

 A deposit of $300, via PayPal or mailed check, is required to reserve a kitten.  Deposits are non-refundable.  To insure that our kittens are a good fit for homes and families, we interview all prospective families prior to accepting a deposit.  Kittens must be paid for in full by 12 weeks of age, at which time they are ready to go to their forever homes.  Early payments are acceptable. Kittens must be picked up by 12 weeks of age.  We do not sell cats or kittens with breeding rights.  Acceptable forms of payment for the remaining balance due are PayPal or cash. We do not accepts checks at time of pick up for the remaining balance. All deposits are non-refundable. 

If kittens are picked up,  a set time is arranged prior to pick up.  Pick up times can be flexible, but must be agreed upon by the time the kitten is 12 weeks old. If the set time turns out to not work, then arrangements must be made at that time of cancellation.  We do not allow for pick up times to be drawn out past the kitten being 13 weeks unless this was previously discussed.

Shipping is available upon request. This is an added expense for the new family. We do have relationships with couriers that can drive the kitten to their new family as well as we are able to use air shipment. How the kitten is shipped is determined through distance, weather, and cost. This is discussed with family prior to purchase if this is a possible option that will be needed.

Our kittens are sold with a pet contract. This is reviewed at the time of deposit so that the new family knows what to expect from the breeder if something happens with their new family member. Kittens are guaranteed to leave our cattery free of FeLV and FIV having been checked by our vet prior to going home. Please feel free to ask about our contract and kitten guarantee.

Hillside Maine Coons are only sold as pets. All of our babies leave our cattery spayed or neutered by our veterinarian. This allows us to pass off kitten registration at the time of pick up. http://cfa.org/owners/catcare/spayneuter/earlyspayneuter.aspx

Hillside Maine Coon Cattery takes the health of our cats and babies very seriously. Therefore, we are a closed (do not breed outside cats) and private cattery so we do not do tours. This decreases the chance of contamination and spread of illness. We do not offer outside stud services. All of our cats have been FIV and FeLV tested, along with other DNA testings prior to breeding.
